Travel back with me to November 22, 2023, a day when my family and I found ourselves under the watchful gaze of Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It was a day to remember, not just because of the iconic location, but because we captured it in a way that turned our world upside down — through the lens of a 360° camera, our family, together, became the heart of a tiny planet.
In this snapshot, you’ll see us, a little family cluster, standing amidst a crowd that seems to orbit around us like we’re the sun in their solar system. The majestic statue above spreads its arms wide, as if to gather us all into an embrace, and beneath us, the city curves like a smile.
The vast blue sky crowns the image, a perfect dome that holds us in this moment, while the distant scenery bends, wrapping the hustle and bustle of Rio into our personal globe. Here we are, my wife, kids, and I, in the middle of it all, a single point of stillness in the swirling pattern of tourists and travelers.
This post isn’t the product of AI magic, but the photo? That’s all real, a genuine moment from our lives, now stretched into a full circle. It’s moments like these that remind us how small we are in the grand scheme, yet how large we loom in each other’s worlds.
